Emotion = human…we could be Vulcan…but then we’d not be human.
Did it ever break your heart to see a dying swallow try to raise its wings for one last flight? If it didn’t…. I am sorry for you. But still, knowing the swallow is lost, it does neither it nor us any good to lament its passing… it was born and fed by its parents who struggled to bring it the food and comfort it needed… it grew and perhaps raised its own young. All things live and grow, and then they die… Samsara…. the Eternal Wheel of Suffering grinds us all down into dust.
Blessings to those who give a smile to a child, and food to the hungry, and comfort to the sad….

Emo… live and see the blessings in each day, let your emotions be recognized by your mind…. but don’t let emotions rule your hand. The heart tells you what it wants you to do… the mind tells you what the best and right course is. Mind filters and weighs the appropriate response based on the present conditions and circumstances. Sometimes emotion is necessary, usually it is needless and perpetuates suffering. Weed out mis-spent emotion as you would remove rogue weeds….
Nothing lasts forever….
The storm knocked down our bat-house from the tree in front of our house….
The lichen did its work on the wood…. while the bats dwelled inside….
Time will erase the bat’s record of life….
It will decay the lichen and the wood into their base elements….
they will be used by other life in the future…..FOREVER
nothing is really lost… it just changes
but even the chert boulder…. it’s kin used here by people eons ago will disappear….
Nothing lasts forever….
all we can do is live in the here and now, and learn what we can from life and the people before us….
and pass on what we can manage to the next generations.
